The Canon EOS is an entry level dSlr camera. In the past, dSlr cameras have been the domain of professional photographers. But, with recent technological innovations and price drops, this incredible technology is now available for the consumer market.Before we even start, price is more crucial to resolve here. Yes, this camera is more expensive than most compact cameras. But, you shouldn’t be comparing it to compact cameras. These cameras should be compared to professional cameras. So, a camera like this for under $1000 is a real steal. You do have to purchase separate lenses for cameras like this, but that’s a whole other review.
It comes with a 15 megapixel sensor. That is higher than any other compact camera out there, and is comparable to professional cameras. You can use images from this camera to blow up and make big, clear images, or you can even zoom and crop and still have a high quality image. This sensor even allows you to take full HD video. This is a relatively new technology for dSlr cameras, and the Rebel T1i is one of the first to have it! So, not only can you take great still images of the events you can attend, you can take high quality HD video as well. Having a camera that can do both of those things at a high level is a huge money saver. So, instead of buying a digital camera and a camcorder, you can buy just one piece of technology!
